LucasArts Announces New Distribution Partnerships With Electronic Arts In Germany, Australia, Asia Pacific And Brazil
LUCASARTS STREAMLINES GLOBAL BUSINESS FUNCTIONS WITH ADDITIONAL EA AFFILIATIONS
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- September 18, 2000 -- LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC, a leading international developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software, today announced distribution and publishing arrangements with Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: ERTS) in Germany, Australia, Asia Pacific and Brazil. The terms of each deal grant EA the rights to distribute select future PC and console titles from LucasArts in each respective territory, and the rights to publish select titles in Asia Pacific and Brazil. These new partnerships complement current affiliations between LucasArts and Electronic Arts in Spain and Japan.
LucasArts' current partner in Germany, Softgold Computerspiele GmbH, a THQ (Nasdaq: THQI) company, will retain a portion of the company's business by publishing and distributing several new Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Advance titles from LucasArts. The agreement with Softgold also will include LucasArts' classic product lines.
Additionally, LucasArts' present Brazilian partner, PI Editora (Brasoft), will maintain the distribution and publishing rights to LucasArts' classic product lines in that territory.
