LucasArts To Release Star Wars® Starfighter: Special Edition Exclusively On Xbox Fall 2001
ADDITIONAL BONUS MISSIONS, TWO-PLAYER MODES AND OTHER ENHANCEMENTS HIGHLIGHT NEW VERSION OF ACCLAIMED SPACE COMBAT GAME FOR XBOX
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- May 17, 2001 -- LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC is bringing all the explosive thrills and action of Star Wars Starfighter to the Xbox video game system from Microsoft with Star Wars Starfighter Special Edition. Armed with a variety of enhancements and additions, this new version of the chart-topping PlayStation 2 flight-action game is scheduled for release in fall 2001. The Xbox version is slated for U.S. release only.
Star Wars Starfighter Special Edition takes players on an epic journey that begins on Naboo and continues through the climactic assault on a Droid Control Ship. The game takes full advantage of the robust Xbox graphic capabilities and features more than 20 beautifully rendered 3D starships amidst 14 incredible environments set in air and space. Xbox gamers can look forward to five new bonus missions, several two-player games, a new two-player dog-fighting mode and expanded two-player capture-the-flag arenas.

Star Wars Starfighter Special Edition is being adapted for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft by San Francisco-based Secret Level. Secret Level creates tools, technology and games for the interactive entertainment industry.
